Vaalwater is located in the Waterberg area of Limpopo, South Africa, and is situated near the Mokolo River. Vaalwater sits at the southern edge of what is known as the Waterberg Massif, a large biosphere which contains a number of mammals including some of the Big Five.
Vaalwater has many historical and interesting buildings for visitors to view including the Church of St John the Baptist, as well as numerous herb farms which can also be visited. There are countless self-drive routes which can be explored to experience the authentic Waterberg bush.
The area is popular as a stop-over for those en-route to Botswana and entering the Waterberg Massif, and although the town is not located on a national road it is however, growing as a tourist destination in its own right.
Vaalwater has much to offer in the form of arts, crafts and gift shops amongst other unique enterprises - the town is definitely worth the visit.
